Halina Kozar is a Ukrainian artist originally from the beautiful Trans-Carpathian mountains, but living in UK – coming here 14 years ago. She is unique among the artists in this exhibition because she has only been painting for 1 year, and has only been using ‘paint by numbers’ canvasses bought online, while she develops her acrylic painting technique – her turning to art to help with the mental health impacts of the war back in her home country, which she has visited every year since coming to the UK, is her own story of healing through art: and we hope you will agree that her colour technique has come on very well!  Halina still has many relatives, remaining in regions of Ukraine which are undergoing continuous bombings – and this is part of her motivation for choosing to submit her works to Beauty for Peace.
