Description

Matsvei Velhas is a 16-year old Belarussian artist, currently living with his family in Warsaw, Poland – they had to move here, as his parents were active participants in the 2020 Belarussian protests/attempted revolution – and thus their strong support for Ukraine at this current time. Matsvei has a severe form of autism and intellectual disability: he can’t properly express his thoughts orally or in written form, and thus his art is the only available form of communication he has. His recent works, primarily featuring images of cats and springtime, demonstrate his unique and beautiful style of self-expression: Matsvei always uses acrylics, in vibrant colours, and the painting resembles a mosaic with numerous shades. He has painting for 4 years, since the family moved, and has already had his works shown at several exhibitions in Warsaw and Krakow.

Matsvei’s works are all Acrylic on Canvas. The works are as follows:
1. ‘White cat’, 30×24 cm, £200;
2. ‘Blue cats’, 40×40 cm, £200;
3. ‘Cat’s Eyes’, 30×40 cm, £250;
4. ‘Clouds’, 40×45 cm, £250;
5. ‘Spring cat’, 30×40 cm, £230.
