Description

Volodymyr Bezrdonyi is an 86-year old legend of Ukrainian art, with works exhibited at the important Art Museums in Ukraine.  He was stuck in the near-frontline town of Toretsk, not far from Donetsk, for a large part of the current war – separated from his wife – however, in October 2023, they were rescued, reunited and evacuated to the UK, by a team of aid organisations led by Bicester Humanitarian Aid Partnership, and now live in Thame with their wonderful host, Sarah. Volodymyr was able to bring some of his amazing artworks with him, when they were rescued, and it is due to him that the idea of Beauty for Peace came into being! We are very pleased to be able to include some of his work in this exhibition.
